LUNADA, the Bay Area’s only full moon literary and performance ritual, invites you to a brand new season of community poets, local legends, visiting mystics, and other mero meros of the stage.
Tuesday, August 24th, is the Season Opener of the Fall 2010 Season, and the debut event of the series' new host and curator Sandra Garcia Rivera. Inspired by a vision to unite poetry and dance, this evening will feature Bay Area choreograp ...her and writer Malia Connor as a guest curator and co-host, sharing voices and movement from her native Hawaii and the Pacific Islands, to make waves, words, and movimiento under the full moon.
Show starts at 7:30pm
Guest curated by some of the Bay Area’s most dynamic word slingers and artists, LUNADAS are community gatherings where stories, food, songs and spirit are shared. Musicians and first timers are always welcome to sign up for the Open Mic. LUNADA is located in the heart of the Mission District at Galería de la Raza.
