The Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation, Inc. (SRACF) in one of its missions to promote art and culture is having its 6th annual fundraiser deliciously known as “Get-A-Taste-For-Art” from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 30th at the County Auditorium, 4530 Jimmy's Way, in Milton, FL.
A deductible gift of $25 or more gains attendees entry to this optional black tie/semi-formal event. The “theme” this year will be "Medievil Knight". So, have a little fun and dress up or come in period costumes. Attendees will have their senses titillated with decadent sampling of art, music, and exquisitely tasty morsels of chocolate creations and gourmet hors-d'oeuvres that will appease the finest of palates. Tickets will be available at theDragonfly Gallery and at the door on the night of the event.
Attendees will get a “taste” of art in multiple disciplines of visual, dance, musical and culinary arts. An exciting silent auction will be on display for fun and competitive bidding. All proceeds will go to support the various art programs serving Santa Rosa County and its neighbors.
Generous donations, cooperative efforts and countless hours of coordinated volunteer service last year helps to provide Santa Rosa County residents with numerous art educational workshops, featured art shows, meet and greet receptions, prized contests, a hanging gallery; house the offices of the Foundation to facilitate grants, record keeping and coordinate volunteer efforts; and has allowed the expansion of services into the performing, literary and cultural arts. The Foundation encourages and assists in networking and publicizing events from numerous local groups including, but not limited to the Panhandle Community Theatre, Panhandle Writer’s Group, community revitalization efforts via main Street Milton’s First Friday Fest and Bagdad Village Preservation Association, Community Choirs, Riverwalk Arts Festival, Holiday Gallery Night and Light Up Milton. We are very excited that through all these increased activities and services a real need has arisen for a “Cultural Center” in Santa Rosa County.
We encourage donations above the admission fee, generous bidding, donation matching challenges and will gladly work with individuals, groups and organizations in setting up endowments, building and memorial/honorary funds to remember or honor your loved ones through the arts. Support for the Arts rely completely on the generosity of your donations and gifts.
The Foundation uses “Get a Taste For Art” to raise awareness, funding and public engagement in the growing interests and diversities of Santa Rosa County’s arts and culture, which contribute significantly to our quality of life and our local economy. Expectations for the arts and cultural involvements are on the rise.
Everything from traditional oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, digital photography to pottery, jewelry, stained glass, sculptures and more are on display at the Dragonfly Gallery. You are welcome to visit Tuesday through Saturdays, 10-4pm in downtown Milton on Escambia Street directly behind the Main Street Café on Hwy 90.
