|Organization||French Institute Alliance Française||
|Address||22 East 60th Street, New York, NY, United States|
|Start||February 10, 2011|
|End||March 12, 2011|
This February, the Gallery of the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), New York’s premiere French cultural center, will brighten up the winter with a new site-specific installation, éphémère, by the young French-American artist Sydney Albertini. The second half of a two-part series, the exhibit features large-scale drawings that will be brought to life in an immersive and participatory installation.
Albertini’s drawings, compelling in their graphic quality and magnetic abstraction, present the intimate moments of our quotidian routines, from a woman dressing to a young girl playing. Rendered in charcoal and oils on Fabriano paper, Albertini’s work reflects the essence of human movement and the nature of color, and strives to capture the beauty of the ephemeral in our daily lives.
