Charlotte Street: Urban Culture Project Bonfils Artist Studios

Bonfils, a storefront space on 12th Street between Walnut and Grand - half a block from Paragraph Gallery - which currently houses five artists. Urban Culture Project’s (UCP) competitive Studio Residency Program for Visual Artists, established in 2003, provides free studios with 24-hour access for one year terms to promising Kansas City artists in need of space in which to work. The artists open their studios to the public each Third Friday evening in conjunction with openings at the galleries. In addition, we often bring visiting curators through the studios and present one to two “Studio Focus” exhibitions per year at a UCP gallery, curated or co-curated by artists or arts professionals from the broader community.
