EC Gallery is pleased to present “Dark Corner” – an exhibition featuring new works by Justyna Adamczyk and Aleksandra Urban. The exhibition of works by Polish female artists of the young generation – graduates of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw will be on display at the Gallery from December 9th through January 21st, 2012. Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, December 9th, 6 pm – 8pm.

Justyna Adamczyk will present her very intimate painting which is a combination of organicity (in its literal sense) and surrealistic abstraction. On display will also be a series of graphic works by Alex Urban. These works can remind one of fairy tales in which everyday life and fantasy come together. Both artists escape from the boredom of everyday life into overflowing imagination filled up with a great number of themes. Both artists have a lot in common – fascination with human physiology, the sacral sphere, introversion, but predominantly with the dark side of humanity.
They are both looking for inspiration amongst human phobias and they are not afraid to give shape to what can be lurking in a dark corner, especially when this dark corner is a place in our own mind.
