FIAF is proud to present a Special Screening of Gainsbourg (Gainsbourg, vie héroïque) on Thursday, April 21, in partnership with Music Box Films and Kinology. An inventive biography directed by best-selling comic book artist Joann Sfar, Gainsbourg, vie héroïque follows the famed French singer from his childhood in Nazi-occupied Paris, to his transition from painter to jazz musician to pop superstar, and through his relationships with the many women in his life, including Juliette Greco, Brigitte Bardot, and Jane Birkin. Based on his graphic novel, Sfar employs a witty, surrealistic style to represent Gainsbourg’s complex inner life.
