The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), New York’s premiere French cultural center, in collaboration with uniFrance, will present a special screening of The Last Summer Tour (Bus Palladium), a new film from director Christopher Thompson. The event is presented on the occasion of the inaugural My French Film Festival, the first stand-alone, online-only film festival celebrating French talent. On January 13, 2011, director Christopher Thompson will appear in person to present his debut feature at an exclusive engagement at FIAF’s Florence Gould Hall.
A comedy, The Last Summer Tour follows the rise to fame and subsequent break-up of a rock group formed by childhood friends Lucas, Manu, Philippe, Jacob, and Mario. They have talent and hope, and dream of music and glory. Their rock group, Lust, encounters increasing success, but each of them harbours personal aspirations that put their shared future in doubt. The arrival of Laura in their lives will further destabilize their fragile equilibrium.
“In his directorial debut, Christopher Thompson succeeds in creating an ambiance film that will bring back fond childhood memories in many viewers.” Le Parisien
“A familiar theme, to which Thompson brings a lot of freshness and spontaneity.” Le Figaro
