For Justice's debut on the BBC's Essential Mix Radio Program, the deejay declared them to be the best electronic music out to come out of France since Daft Punk. Former graphic designers Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay met and haphazardly fell into record producing. They remixed Simian's 2003 "Never Be Alone" track and the result was being signed on Ed Banger Records, the ultra-hip and prolific French electro label. The label's impresario, Pedro Winter, just so happens to manage Daft Punk. The track was later called "We are your friends," and came out in wide-release during 2006, experiencing a great reception worldwide. The duo's popularity has been growing ever since, and they have become an integral part of the French electro scene that seems to be tougher to crack than one of their sold-out shows. Famously, during MTV Europe's Video Music Awards in 2006, Justice's video for "We are your friends" beat out American rapper Kanye West for the category of "Best Video," much to the chagrin of Mr. West, who interrupted the acceptance speech to declare that he should have won. Justice's most recent album, titled "' ," was released in July 2007 by Ed Banger. Their particular sound represents a kind of effortless cool specific to Parisians, while also embodying a sense of enduring talent and a true understanding of music history. The duo have remixed such artists as Fatboy Slim, Death from Above 1979, Daft Punk and Britney Spears.
