Lisa Nankivil has established a national reputation as an abstract painter and printmaker. Her work is noted for its distinctive style of linear abstraction that blends vivid color, transparent glazes, and intricate surface texture. Through dynamic interplays of form, color and light, Nankivil explores the ambiguity of pictorial space, while revelaing the inherently subjective nature of perception.

Nankivil trained in studio art at the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), where she earned a BFA degree in painting in 1995. She is an artist-member of the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art, a prominent artist cooperative located in downtown Minneapolis, where she maintains her principal painting studio and private press.

Nankivil's paintings and original prints are exhibited nationally and internationally and are found in public and private collections in America and Europe.

Nankivil is represented by Spanierman Modern, New York; Thomas McCormick Gallery, Chicago; William Shearburn Gallery, St. Louis; ; and Highpoint Editions, Minneapolis. Her monotypes are available at Marlborough Graphics, New York.
