Rose Marie Trockel is a German artist and professor at the Duesseldorf Art Academy.

In 1971 she began teaching at the College of Education in Cologne, with the subjects Anthropology,Sociology,Theology and Mathematics.From 1974 to 1978 she studied at the Cologne Art Academy at Werner Schriefers Painting.In 1980 she traveld to U.S., she learned the artist Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger and Cindy Sherman  whose work she encouraged in her own artistic concept: it made the "Womanhood" on the subject of her art and to formulate a fundamental critique of the existing art world.Her work inculdes paintings and drawings, scuptures ,videos and installations.In the late 1980s her work high attention in the U.S. In 1988 she presented in Museum of Modern Art in New York and 1991 in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Institude of Contemporary Art in Boston.Since 1998 Trockel is professor at the famous Duesseldorf Art Academy.- In 1997 she took care during the Documenta 10 in Kassel with her "house for pigs and people" a sensation that she and her artist friend Carsten Holler built. - In 1999 she accepted as first wife in the German Pavilion at the biennale Venice.
