Anna Paquin Overview

Anna Paquin is a young and talented actress working today in mainly television and film. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Paquin moved to New Zealand at the age of four, and landed the pivotal role in Jane Campion's ‘The Piano’ released in 1993. Paquin won an Oscar for this role at the age of eleven. She has continued to act in theater and film, and also found time to attend Columbia University for a year. Other Paquin films include 'Fly Away Home,' 'Almost Famous,' and the obvious 'X-Men,' in which she played Rouge. Currently, Paquin is the star of HBO's Hit show, 'True Blood.' Paquin plays the title character, telepathic Sookie Stackhouse and won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series for her role in the show. Paquin is a joy to watch and a supremely talented young actress.
