I am revolting against the idea that new media communicates messages more clearly. My aim in painting is to counter the "hot media" of the corporate pr culture with "cool media" of static painted images. My art deals with narratives that are being actively edited out of public conscious by McGraw Hill and all arms of the monopolized mass media. As a nation America is currently under fascist corporate rule. Despite popular belief, America finds itself often in illegal foreign wars not because of the overzealous missteps of far right politicians, but because of careful secret planing of the military industrial complex. I am a history painter who is trying to refocus on the marginalized discontent of the American citizen who has lost control of their political system, and who has also lost control of their own historical narrative.
