The Cardboard Gallery is a temporary, non-profit alternative art space constructed from cardboard and other reclaimed materials that operates on a system of barter. Conceived by Vesna Krstich and Nikolas Drosos (Gemini Corporation) and designed by architect, Marta Gazicka, the project explores how creative communities can forge alternative venues and collaborative opportunities in times of recession. For its inaugural exhibition the Cardboard Gallery is pleased to announce that it will debut works by Ukrainian artist collective SOSka Group in an exhibition entitled Barter. This will be their first exhibition in North America. The gallery, its exhibition and related programs will be open to the public as part of the 13th Annual DUMBO Art Under the Bridge Festival, which takes place between Sept 25-27. [show less]
