Canadian artist Norval Morriseau (Copper Thunderbird) Grand Shaman, member of both the Royal Canadian Academy of Art and the Order of Canada as well as Holder of the Eagle Feather(highest honor awarded by the Assembly of First Nations) is recognized as both artist and spiritual leader. Recognized as the first visual artist to describe the teachings of the Ojibway people pictorially, he created a style that has influenced aboriginal and non aboriginal artist since. He lived a romantic artist's life and it is said he never had a creative block, he created thousands of images and painted on everything from a rock to a fridge. He truly is a Canadian Art Genius.
