Art has always been a secret passion of mines, growing up it gave me a sense of power, the ability to create something on a blank sheet of paper/canvas that can be admired brought personal fulfillment. Now I have reached the stage in my life where I want to share this gift with the rest of the world. This is the introduction of LaRich. Painting for me was always a natural ability; I grow up in a household with an aunt and uncle that were creatively involved individuals in arts and craft and music. I started making art because it allowed me to explore and express myself in ways I was unable to do through spoken words. I was a very shy and self conscious child growing up which made it difficult for me to be myself around others. When I first started out I painted and drew everyday. Now I paint whenever I am inspired or when I am going through an emotional struggle or feel the need to slow down my thinking from the stress of everyday living. Art has become a venting and therapeutic mechanism for me where some pieces may convey internalized emotions or realistic representations of landscapes or portraits. Most of my pieces start out with a preliminary sketch, however, a number of them which were unplanned take form on the canvas where I allow my imagination and emotions to take control. I cherish every piece I have ever painted and I sometimes find my self emotionally attached to them as often refer to them as my babies. My digital and photography work are all experimental. I am also self taught in using graphic designing programs so its all a learning and growing process for me in that field. But I do enjoy dabbling in those area and I am looking forward to see how it will evolve into something more than it is right now. Face Painting and Body art has opened up entire new world for me, I am completely self taught in this area and have grown quite fond in exploring different avenues in this field.
