“As a photographer, my eye delights in looking at photographs. Most of the time, critically. There are, however, some artists, I am interested in. Edward Hopper's work, has always inspired me: the shapes, spareness, subdued palette, the prevailing quiet and introspective quality of his subjects. The noir quality of his work, is what I was striving for in my series "Los Angeles 2006-2008" posted elsewhere on A+C. If only a movie existed that was art-directed by Hopper, and written by Raymond Chandler, my life would be complete!”
