Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer, best known for his seven Symphonies, his Violin Concerto, and his tone poems Finlandia and The Swan of Tuonela. Although many critics decried Sibelius’s work as too conservative, he still created a unique style with economical, logical construction and sparse orchestration reflecting the landscape of his native country.
