She moved from Kenya to NYC in order to study anthropology and fine art at Cooper Union. After that she got her MFA in sculpture from Yale. Her paintings/collages are made on Mylar, incorporating collage and ink to create idealized female figures our of fragmented parts. Her work is read as racial and feminist commentary.
