How dare we put a roof, a cap, an absolute definition on art? Oh but we have and it goes something like this, "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power". One could argue that it is all encompassing and anyone may label anything they wish as art. It certainly seems that as it evolves in our day to day culture so does the definition of art itself. Many movements have sought to brake the barrier between life and art to blend them as one. Art as a far reaching concept stirs up a bit of controversy but I am not one to rule out any particular side of an argument. Does art imitate life? Does life imitate art? Is it both ,are the lines closing in? Are we sitting between two mirrors? Are we not creating life in every movement, thought, and choice? Is life not art? I could say that being born is an expression or application of human creative skill and imagination in a visual form hence life is art. I may not enjoy all that others may call "art" but that is not the point and if we are blinded by that then perhaps we are missing out on the diversity that art and life has to offer. So it is in our temporary lapse of sight that we may be more attuned to hearing something new.
