I am a film-maker, curator, and artist living in Brooklyn, NY. At present, I am completing my master’s thesis titled Camera Altera. a multi-channel video installation which explores the history of hysteria in late nineteenth-century France through medical photography, animations and reenactments of clinical lectures as well as original texts. I am influenced by structural, abstract, and collage film-makers, like Paul Sharits, Ken Jacobs, Harry Smith and Nathaniel Dorsky. I gravitate towards artists and film-makers that use cultural detritus, outmoded or archival materials to create new works. Over the summer, I will be curating and organizing a monthly screening series of film, video, and electronic art at the Junto Gallery in Bushwick, New York. [show less]
