Ultravox's Midge Ure and Billy Currie teamed up with Steve Strange and members of both Siouxsie and the Banshees to form Visage in 1978. Visage was one of the first New Romantic bands, so called because of their rejection of the austerity inherent in punk rock music. The genre emerged in the London club scene in the early 1980s and included groups such as Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, A Flock of Seagulls and others. [show less]
