Chicago native Nathaniel Jones, aka DJ Pierre is one of the most legendary and genre forming artists in the history of American electronic music. His group Phuture's 1988 tune 'Acid Tracks' caused a stir in Great Britain when the track, rather unintentionally, became an anthem of acid house, the precursor to the brewing rave phenomenon. In addition to pioneering the Acid sound, he invented the unique and epic "wild pitch" production technique, an unmistakable part of early house music. His tracks have appeared on Strictly Rhythm, Trax, Nite Grooves, Jive, Ovum, King Street, Warp, FFRR, ZYX and countess other legendary imprints. And though he has had many tracks appear on major labels, he has kept committed to underground labels and events. [show less]
