catastrophe / theme
The glorious freedom of chaos, the triumph of entropy, and the tumultuous horror of apocalypse. The climax of a tragedy, and hence that disaster or calamity which is both greatly feared and secretly longed for. The moment of collapse, destruction, annihilation, and the desolate wasted aftermath. Shattering history, order, peace, placidity, and throwing the shards to the whims of art and audience. Both demonstration and description.
Themes represent basic categories of thought, emotion, or value. While our assignment of themes may at times seem arbitrary or whimsical, they serve to link together artists and movements along non- hierarchial pathways. Follow the themes to look for new disciplines that share qualities with those you already like, or to open up new worlds of Art and Culture.
