anxiety / theme
Worry, concern, apprehension, waking in the night in a cold sweat, gnawing concern, stress, that which causes stomach ulcers, vague unease, an unnaturally prolonged instance of the panic reaction, the inability to live in the moment and let tomorrow take care of itself. Lack of confidence in one's ability to anticipate and cope with change. A kind of fear, perhaps of fear itself. An imbalance, a lack of repose, a sense of dissonance.
Themes represent basic categories of thought, emotion, or value. While our assignment of themes may at times seem arbitrary or whimsical, they serve to link together artists and movements along non- hierarchial pathways. Follow the themes to look for new disciplines that share qualities with those you already like, or to open up new worlds of Art and Culture.
