empty / theme
Empty is not void per se, but an evacuated space, a contained nothing. So little is provided that the imagination may take only a small step to know nothingness. There is space enough, and time, to allow fear and wonderment full rein, but these cannot fill the truly empty. This bareness, frugality, eggshell surface seems delicate, but the visitor is far more vulnerable in this bare place.
Themes represent basic categories of thought, emotion, or value. While our assignment of themes may at times seem arbitrary or whimsical, they serve to link together artists and movements along non- hierarchial pathways. Follow the themes to look for new disciplines that share qualities with those you already like, or to open up new worlds of Art and Culture.
