I'm excited because it is time for Making Media Connections 2009! I attended this educational nonprofit and media communications conference a few years ago as a project dirctor & marketing/PR consultant while I was associated with Shoestring Creative Group, one of the sponsors for the event at that time.
I am interested in how the Chicago conference presenters, Community Media Workshop, have added more and more interesting things each year. For example, attendees can hear and meet real live journalists and public relations professionals. If you can't attend in-person, you can attend virtually through "live blogging," and you can apparently follow their hashtag #mmc2009.
The Community Media Workshop have also recently created fun "Web 2.0" activities like social networking meet-ups and their ning, called Adventures in Nonprofit Communicating (where I added My Page) where the public has opportunities to make local nonprofit arts and cultural connections throughout the year.
