I love when something unexpected is really well designed. You know that saying, "don't judge a book by its cover"? Well I do, all the time and I usually find it works out just fine. My theory is, if someone took the time to make the cover look so good, then it stands to reason they must have cared about what was inside. I recently started picking out my wines with this theory in mind. I have found that wine label designers are really taking it up a notch and embracing modernity by throwing that stuffy edwardian script out the window and embracing more modern sleek fonts. I realize it sounds ridiculous to say that a well placed font makes me genuinely happy but it does, and when I saw this bottle of Portal Roble from Ole, I almost squealed in delight... and I did later when I tasted it and loved it! Are there any wines you think are not only tasty but well designed?
