Last year NYC's Deitch Projects hosted filmmaker Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep) as he created a DIY film studio whereby he went about opening the experience of his film Be Kind, Rewind to the public. Participants were provided space, equipment and plot summaries and were invited to make their own films. "You'll Like This Film Because You're In It," published by PictureBox books is the title of his resulting guide to having fun creatively with your favourite films. The audiobook version is particularly charming, as Gondry narrates the process himself with the very specific voice and excitement of a vibrant director with an honest vision.

“Wish I could've attended this seminar at Deitch - missed an opportunity there.”
