Her charcoal subjects lend themselves to an elegant yet androgonous form. Juul Kraijer renders with such precision and thoughtful reservation one can only gain through years of focused practice. Each figure appears frozen in time - peacefully lost within themselves. Many often resemble movie stills where we, the viewer, look on as they toil in unease. Her newer work introduces unusual swarms of animals, like the minnos above.  "The drawings are decidedly not representations of situations existing in reality. Rather, they are incarnations of a frame of mind."
