In deference to that ubiquitous cold that's been going around, here's something easy to watch, goes well with cough medicine, and is a high energy diversion to get you up on your feet!
In 2005, David LaChapelle -- famous for his vibrant, ornate, sexually charged photos, luxuriant music videos and shiny commercials -- directed a documentary about krumping. The film takes place in South Central LA, the epicenter of an aggressive form of dance called krumping, and the story follows Tommy the Clown, a former birthday party enterntainer who opens a krumping school in LA to encourage kids to channel their aggro energy into dance.
The movie features Kevin Scott Richardson, Lil C, and Miss Prissy among others, and yes it sounds like sort of excessively inspirational but it's honestly pretty amazing -- not to mention impressive! -- to watch these folks dance.
So throw back some juice and get your butt of the couch!
