The kitchen


Located in Manhattan this non-profit is a place for experimenting and experiencing artists taking risks.  "The organization identifies, supports and presents emerging and under-recognized artists who are making significant contributions to their respective fields as well as serves as a safe space for more established artists to take unusual creative risks."


The kitchen is open Tuesday through Saturday from 2-6pm and one hour before the beginning of the show. Students, Seniors and Members receive 20% off the price of a ticket.  You can also volunteer to usher shows and in exchange receive free admittance to a show.  For more info click here.


 


The Drawing Center


A non-profit on Wooster Street in Manhattan committed to the art of Drawing, featuring historical and current day artists.  Their mission is to bring under-recognized artists to the forefront of public knowledge and create meaningful public discussions centered around the issues within art and culture.  The center also features lectures, poetry readings, concerts and family events.  Visit the site here.
