Montreal based boutique Les Etoffes is one of my favorite new stores in the city. Owned by Dianna and Christopher, the shop is hip yet classic; minimalist with a twist. The boutique offers clothing, shoes and accessories for both men and women. The store has great service and the whole place has a nice laid back vibe.
I absolutely love the design and decor of Les Etoffes. The dark wood walls and floors make for a Victorian attic meets Wild West look. Sinister wallpaper and bowls of plastic human entrails deorate the interior space, and clothing hangs from wooden rods suspended from the ceiling.
As for the clothing itself, they carry an international selection of designers including Haiku, Rodebjer, Naked & Famous, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Jill Stuart, and a carefully selected array of vintage pieces. The prices tend to run a little high, but for the quality and artistry of the garments I think it is totally worth it. Les Etoffes is a great destinsation for finding investment pieces that would be as fashionable in ten years as it is today.
