I always wanted to go in a sensory deprivation tank, especially after seeing the episode of The Simpsons where Lisa has a series of surreal visions in one. Luckily, ZEE: An Immersive Audiovisual Environment, gives me the opportunity to hallucinate without getting in a tub of lukewarm water. The piece, by artist Kurt Henschlager, is enigmatically described as "a rigorous mindscape; a hallucinatory architecture of light; a dream machine"; I gather that it uses dense fog and light effects to heighten and distort the senses. It may also be too intense for some viewers--strobe lights can cause migraines, seizures, and nausea. It is not open to the public, but writers and curators can request a preview.
