designates architecture in Italy, oriented at the modern trend of new building, into the 1920-30er years, in which it however already came for the change with neoklassizistischen forms.
In that 1926 of the Gruppo Sette (Michelucci) published "communist manifesto of the Italian rationalism" publicised themselves an architecture probably the modern ones like classical - justified from the Roman antiquity - composition principles and plants. This form of a modern-reduced Neo classicism could hold itself also in the fascist time. From the "Siebenergruppe" Movimento Architettura Razionale (M.A.R., 1928) and/or Movimento followed Italiano by l'Architettura Razionale (M.I.A.R., 1930) as strict representatives of a modern architecture.
This connection of modern trend and Neoklassizismus shows up clearly in the plant established by Casa del Fascio in Como and Torre del Comune in Sabaudia on the Agro Pontino with Rome of G. Cancelotti, Montuori, L Piccinato and E. Scalpelli 1933-44: A classical Proportionierung is appropriate for the throughout cubic buildings to reason, which is city tower - Italian tradition - abstracted temples provided with flat roof touched down, column fronts reminds of antiquity patterns, is however to basic forms reduced. Giuseppe Terraginis Casa del Fascio in Como (1932-36) is one of the most important buildings of the Razionalismo.
