John Denver was one of the great folk, singer-songwriters of the 1970s, composing iconic songs such as "Thank God I'm A Country Boy", "Rocky Mountain High" and "Take Me Home, Country Roads". He died prematurely when the plane he was piloting crashed off Monterrey in 1997.
